Anna Plassart

Anna is a historian of modern Britain and Europe and she is particularly interested in the history of political ideas. She has written about the French Revolution, the Scottish Enlightenment and imperialism in the early nineteenth century.

She studied in France, where she is from, before moving to the UK for her postgraduate studies. She completed her PhD in Cambridge in 2010 and went on to take up a postdoctoral position in Oxford. There she wrote her first book, about the Scottish reception of the French Revolution.

Anna joined The Open University in 2016 and has since worked on two history modules, A223 and A225. She has written two units for A225, both focusing on the culture of the working classes in nineteenth-century Britain.
